Ipswich Repoens All Five Beaches After Bacteria Tests
IPSWICH (CBS) – All five of Ipswich's public beaches were reopened Friday night, just in time for a long stretch of oppressive heat is beginning.
The town's health department had closed Crane, Pavilion, Steep Hill, Little Neck, and Clark beaches to swimming Thursday after the wastewater treatment plant's discharge tested higher-than-usual for bacteria.
Nearby oyster beds were also ruled off-limits.
On Friday, water samples came back clean and the beaches were all reopened.
