Another Warm Week...

The weekend's bitter blast is already retreating...after morning lows in the teens, highs this afternoon reached 40+.  Much of this week will be on the mild side too as our Winter-less Winter lives on.

As the warm air returns it will be accompanied by lots of clouds...so we are looking at limited sunshine through the middle of the week.  Yet, despite the lack of sun, incredibly, general southerly flow will boost temps into the 40s...and if we happen to get a few breaks of sun then 50 will be attainable again.  Even though there is a large storm in the middle of the Country, the upper level support is scheduled to flatten and get stretched out and the storm will fall apart as it approaches...only sprinkles and flurries will survive the trip into the Northeast.

The second storm cutting across the country will have better and more organized support.  Late Thursday through early Friday we will see this storm swing through.  The storm has timing on its side as it will be passing at night, the coldest part of the day.  But it won't have persistence or most importantly favorable temps on its side.  Preceding the storm we will warm well into the 40s and that residual warmth Thursday night will preclude much if any snow here in Eastern MA.  In fact, the only areas likely to see accumulating snow will be higher elevations in Southern New England and most of Northern New England (great for ski resorts)!

There will be another snow chance over the weekend on Sunday but it's a little too early to say if the storm will be able to travel far enough north or slide south through the Mid-Atlantic.
