East Boston High To Retire Jermaine Wiggins' #18
BOSTON (CBS) – Former New England Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins is being honored by his high school Friday night.
East Boston High School will retire Wiggins' #18 at halftime of their matchup with the English High School at Sartoti Stadium in East Boston Friday night.
While at EBHS, Wiggins twice made the Boston City League All-Star team. After high school, Wiggins played college football at Marshall and Georgie before embarking on an eight year NFL career.
Wiggins played two seasons with the New England Patriots, catching five touchdowns in 20 games. He was part of the 2001 Super Bowl Championship team, and caught two passes in the Patriots win over the Rams.

Wiggins also played for the New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars.
EBHS will also retire the #66 in honor of long-time coach John Sousa. An East Boston alum, Sousa captained the 1968 team before serving as an assistant coach at Boston English for 17-years.

Starting in 1995, Sousa coached East Boston for 15 years, becoming the school's all-time winningest coach with 119 victories, including a 2004 Super Bowl.
