Two football players at South High School and a student at Worcester Technical High have been diagnosed with the bacteria, which is resistant to several antibiotics.
All three had breaks in their skin, and all three are doing well with treatment.
MRSA, or methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, it's spread by skin-to-skin contact, like shaking hands.
Worcester schools superintendent Melinda Boone told WBZ-TV they are taking precautions to clean and disinfect common areas across the district, and the locker rooms and equipment in the two schools.
