Former UMass Chairman Rob Manning Reflects About Resignation, School's Future
LOWELL (CBS) - Seniors at UMass Lowell graduated Saturday and a former student and Board of Trustees chair gave the commencement address.
Besides offering graduates some words of wisdom, Rob Manning, and his wife Donna, are donating several million dollars to the school.
Manning graduated in 1984 and now is the chairman and CEO of MFS Investment Management in Boston. He's also the former chair of the UMass Board of Trustees who resigned suddenly in December amid concern that Gov. Deval Patrick was too politically involved in the selection of a UMass president.
