Gov. Patrick Helps Band Bald Eagles
BELCHERTOWN (CBS) -- Governor Deval Patrick joined wildlife crews in Belchertown Tuesday to band bald eagle chicks at the Quabbin Reservoir.
The reservoir is one of 34 breeding sites for the birds in Massachusetts.
Banding the birds will allow officials to track where the eagles go and survival rates.
The bald eagle remains on the endangered list in Massachusetts, but numbers are going up.
A record 107 eagles were counted in the state earlier this year.
