Google Selects Kansas City Over Boston For New Broadband Network

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston has lost its bid to become a test city for Google's new project, Fibre.

Google offered to build a super high-speed internet network for free in one city, and Boston wanted to be the one.

On Wednesday, Google announced that the winner is Kansas City, Kansas.

Google says it is building a high speed network to pressure other companies to upgrade their own systems.
