BOSTON (CBS) – Several more roofs collapsed at buildings across the area on Monday, but no serious injuries were reported.

In all, 149 roofs have collapsed in the past week.

Several people escaped a roof collapse at a complex in Norwood Monday afternoon. One firefighter was trapped in a subsequent collapse at the complex, but no serious injuries were reported.


The roof of a vacant building next to a church in Mattapan collapsed Monday.

Fire officials are now concerned about the safety of the church next door.

An employee heard the roof cracking while inside a storage facility in Bellingham on Monday, and got out with just minutes to spare before the roof collapsed.


Twenty cars were totaled by the weight of the snow of the roof of a garage in Lowell on Sunday.

The ceiling at the garage on Phoenix Ave came down, crushing many of the cars inside. Somehow, two expensive Porsches were spared.

Reports of roof collapses also came in from West Newbury, Lawrence, Boston, Billerica, Lancaster, Holliston, and Springfield.
