Felger and Massarotti opened things up today talking about the Red Sox and their off-season. Reports say the Red Sox are trying to work out a deal with either Carl Crawford or Jayson Werth, both players are looking for 6 or 7 year deals.

Are the Red Sox afraid of long-term commitments with players? Is Carl Crawford worth $18 million a year? Why give Werth wants he wants when the Red Sox could have had Jason Bay for less?

if the sox are thinking about offering such a deal to Crawford to put fans in the stands then why can’t they take that money and go after Jeter. we are need a veteran leader since tek is gone and Jeter is near 3000 hits thats gonna put fans in the stands and Jeter gives the pop that the line up needs

“Put fans in the stands”?? Lol….The Red Sox don’t sign players to put fans in the stands. The fans go to games because of loyalty and dedication. Just sayin;’.
