Boston Comedy Festival Kicks Off 10th Year

BOSTON (CBS) -- There will be plenty of laughs around the city in the coming week. The annual Boston Comedy Festival is kicking off Friday, November 5 and continues through November 13.

According to the Festival's website the festival started 10 years ago "with the mission of bringing the top new talent in the country together with the top talent scouts and industry to create a place were comedians could be seen and get opportunities in the art of making people laugh."

This year the festival includes a Stand Up Contest and auditions for The Late Show with David Letterman.

The majority of the shows are around Faneuil Hall including Hard Rock Café, Comedy Club at Cheers, Hennessy's and Paddy O's. Each night there's a variety of shows and performers, and the festival's website has a full schedule.

Tickets for the shows range from $20 to $30 each and can be purchased on the website or at the door.
