Question 1: Alcohol Tax Repealed
BOSTON (CBS) - You'll be able to pop the cork on New Years champagne that won't be subject to the sales tax.
Voters in Massachusetts have voted to repeal the tax on alcohol, giving their approval to Question One.
Opponents called the alcohol tax an extra levy on an already taxed product as well as an added burden on struggling consumers and a disadvantage for package store owners, especially those near the New Hampshire border.
