From Beers & Bowling To Merlot & Monopoly: Game Night In Boston

- By Colleen Mescall

Gone are the days of pre-gaming with a game of Beirut at your friends place or having everyone over for a flip cup tournament before heading out to the bar. After graduating college, we tend to shed a bit of our former (more wild) selves as we inch our way toward mid-to-late twenties. But, fear not! There are still fun (and dare I say, classier) game options for you to enjoy on your next night on the town.

Playing trivia with a big group is perfect, because there's something for everyone. For example, Sally who loves keeping up with Hollywood gossip will get any celebrity-related questions correct, hands down. Bob's got sports covered, and Tom is all over the music category. Barb will be pumped when 'American Literature' comes around, and Patrick could answer any science question in his sleep. Be sure to focus and take this game seriously, because often Celts or Sox tickets will be on the line.

Games (other than quarters, up and down the river, etc.) tend to bring out the kid in us. Bowling parties were all the rage in fifth grade, and guess what? Add a spiked tea or SkittleTini with some dim lighting and good tunes from Kings and you have yourself a grown up version of the best damn middle school party you've ever been to.

Direct quote from Big City, "We take beer seriously…in a BIG WAY." Now people, that is what I'm talking about (along with their 15 tables and 4 foosball tables of course!). With over 80 beers on tap, along with sangria, martinis, frozen drinks (and more), you'll have a harder time choosing your cocktail than whether your stripes or solids. This is the perfect laid back place to unwind after a long work week.
