“Florida. It’s not a crazy place, but the drive is nuts, especially when you take a 24-hour drive with your whole family.”

The Ride
The Driver: Rachael
Car in Question: 2011 Silver Volkswagen Jetta
Spotted at: Auburndale Park, Newton, MA 02466
Odometer: 8,554
Car’s Nickname: Club Jetta

Q: Hi Rachael. What do you think of the Jetta? Is it a fun ride? Where did you get it?

A: I got the car from the Volkswagen dealership on Route 22 in Union, New Jersey. The dealer’s name was Christian Marques. I know that because he creepily requested me on Facebook the next day!

Q: Why this car? Did you just want something new?

A: I was in an accident with my old car. My father went and picked this new one out after we got the insurance money. Then he drove up from New Jersey with it and gave it to me. I’ve had it for a few months and already have almost 9,000 miles on it.

Q: What’s your car’s main use?

A: I mainly use it to drive to and from class. I also do a lot of driving back home to New Jersey. I spend a few hours a day in my car driving. My favorite part is blasting the music. The worst part is the early morning traffic. I can’t stand it!

Q: Do you like to rock out in your car to pass the time?

A: Hell yeah! I don’t care who’s watching.

Q: Have you ever gotten caught by someone in the car next to you?

A: Yes, redhanded!

Q: What’s the craziest road trip you’ve ever been on with this car?

A: Florida. It’s not a crazy place, but the drive is nuts, especially when you take a 24-hour drive with your whole family.

Q: Do you have any rules in your car?

A: I have a rule that no passengers in my car are allowed to smoke in it. My last car I had I felt bad and let my friend have a cigarette in the front seat. She burned a huge hole in the roof!

Q: Ouch, that must have hurt your car. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us about your Jetta?

A: It kind of lacks when it comes to quick acceleration. It takes a second to kick in.
