THE DEFENSE

Q: Let's start by you telling us about your car's main use?

A: I mostly use the car to get me to gigs. I'm a photographer. On weekends, I'm driving all over New England for weddings, and during the week I mostly drive to local clients. I would say I spend 13 to 15 hours in my car per week.

Q: I see. Did you buy your car new?

A: I bought my car from Peters Nissan of Nashua in New Hampshire. I think the guy who sold it to me was Billy. It was a fine experience. I remember him being new to the job, so he was constantly running back and forth relaying my questions to the manager. A few days after I bought my car. I called the dealership to tell him he only gave me one set of keys. I got the "he no longer works here" line. Whoops!

Q: Where is your favorite place to drive?

A: I enjoy driving to my parents' house in New Hampshire. I put Dex, my nine-month-old cattle dog, in the car. I know the route by heart. It's about an hour and a half. Dex doesn't love the car, but he's always so excited when we arrive. My parents own a lot of land, and he can run like crazy. It's a nice break from the city, and obviously, I love seeing the 'rents.

Q: Do you enjoy rocking out in your car?

A: Oh yes. I consider myself to have sophisticated music taste, but just recently I broke down and purchased the Ke$ha album. I'm so embarrassed, but it's really fun to workout and drive to!

Q: Have you ever gotten caught by someone in the car next to you while you were dancing?

A: People see me rockin' out in the car all the time, but that doesn't really phase me. Mostly I see them smile.

Q: Do you have any rules in your car?

A: You can do anything in my car, but I'm in charge of music. The end.

Q: If your car had a human emotion, what would it be and why?

A: My car would probably tell you it's tired. Poor thing hasn't been cleaned in awhile, and she's covered in dog hair. It's on my next week's to-do list.

Q: Finally, what do you think your next car might be?

A: My wish list car would be a Land Rover. But realistically? Probably a Nissan SUV.
