Boston's Best Taco Tuesday Specials

Taco Tuesday specials are featured all throughout Boston. With many of the options offering beef, chicken, seafood or even vegetarian tacos at their bars and restaurants, there is something for everyone. Featuring lively environments, plenty of menu selections besides tacos and an abundance of drink offerings, you are sure to have a fun and affordable Tuesday night Mexican meal at one of the following locations.

Tremont 647 offers a special $2 taco menu every Tuesday during normal business hours of 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Options include the baja style fried fish tacos featuring flavor-packed chipotle lime aioli and crunchy cabbage salad, or for a couple extra dollars, the fish tacos feature citrus-ginger salmon and scallion relish. There are also carnitas tacos, fried chicken and ranch tacos, braised ancho brisket tacos, as well as sauteed Brussels sprouts with cumin-lime vinaigrette, goat cheese and pickled red onions. Feast on the tacos alongside chips, fries, pico de gallo, beans and rice or fried plantains to round out the meal and order up one of the specialty drinks, like the La Paloma with Lunazul tequila, grapefruit, lime, salt and soda.

Right in the center of all of the action in downtown Boston at Faneuil Hall Marketplace is Zuma. Since 1989, it has served up southwest Mexican dishes with only the freshest ingredients, with almost everything made from scratch. On Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to close, head to the bar area for $1 tacos. Diners can choose from chicken or beef tacos, and be sure to ask if there are any specials. Tucked away in an alley in downtown Boston, Barracuda boasts an excellent beer selection, small plates, seafood recipes and plenty of other options. On Tuesdays, it offers $2 tacos from 11 a.m. through closing time, at 1:30 a.m. Feast on beef, pork, chicken or fish tacos and nosh on appetizers perfect for sharing, like conch fritters, buffalo shrimp or blackened catfish skewers.

With locations in Back Bay as well as other popular dining and shopping destinations like Natick and Chestnut Hill, Met has delicious burgers and other American comfort foods. On Tuesdays, it offers a special deal where you get three tacos for $6 at the bar. The taco menu has flavorful selections including beef short rib tacos, grilled chicken tacos with tomatillo salsa verde, skirt steak with guacamole and pico de gallo or pork carnitas featuring roasted pineapple, cilantro and chipotle all in a grilled white corn tortilla. Order a pitcher of sangria or margarita to go with it, salsa and guacamole with chips or the chili-roasted Spanish almonds.

North End locals and visitors can take a break from the usual Italian fare the area has to offer for a unique menu at Vito's. Kick back and watch the area's best sports teams on one of the many flat-screen TVs while digging into huge burgers, chicken wings which come in a variety of flavors or tacos amongst the many options. On Tuesdays, Vito's offers a half-price taco option featuring three of its nine-ounce meat tacos on corn tortillas, which are regularly $11.99 for the plate. There's also Korean-style tacos where you get steak, chicken, pork or veggies with the flavors of Korean barbecue, kimchi, pickled daikon and salsa roja. Or go for the fried fish tacos with kimchi slaw and lime and tequila aioli or traditional Baja tacos with pico de gallo.
