Boston's Best Pet Groomers

Whether pet owners are visiting the city or live in Boston, they want to know that there is a good groomer on hand that will treat their pets well. As it turns out, there are several. Some offer services that pamper pooches beyond what is typically expected. Some offer playtime and boarding amenities that focus on socializing and fun. Others put the focus on letting owners interact with their pets during grooming time. Whatever extras people want from their groomers, they will find them in Boston.

Boston Red Dog offers a great array of services on top of grooming, including day care and boarding. In spite of the business name, cats are also welcome for boarding and bathing, though other services are exclusively for dogs. When it comes to grooming, Red Dog offers baths, haircuts, nail trimming and a load of other reasonably priced options including skunk treatment. Pet owners who dream of never having to soak their pooch in tomato sauce or brush its teeth will love this place. Be sure to check out all of the spa options because Red Dog is brimming with extras.

One of the best things about Dewberry Dogs & Cats Too is right in the name. Having a place to bring both dogs and cats for grooming treatments makes life a lot easier for multi-pet owners. Sure, this is no full-service spa, but Dewberry has a caring atmosphere and provides all of the basic services both dogs and cats need. Extras include deshedding, flea baths, nail trimming and teeth brushing. The prices are as low as any pet owner will find in the area, so that helps put this establishment at the top.

There are so many reasons to love Bark Place that it is impossible to list them all. The best reason is that pet owners can actually do the bathing themselves and use all professional tools and products to get the job done. This means a calmer pet and extra bonding time for both pet and owner. For those who do not have the time or prefer a professional to take care of their friends, there are grooming services as well. These include bathing, haircutting, ear cleaning and nail trimming. Extras include dematting and spa treatments for spoiled pooches.

The Continental

The Continental Bed, Bath And Bone
1729 Centre St.
West Roxbury, MA 02132
(617) 323-9511

Bed, Bath and Bone is a hotel for pets. It provides overnight services, day care and pet essentials so pet parents can get all of their needs in one place when on the go. As for grooming, expect a full-service treatment from bathing to nail clipping. This groomer also does deskunking, which is always a plus. One downside is that The Continental Bed, Bath and Bone does not have set prices for services, so there is no telling what the cost may be to bathe a pooch until it is on site. For small dog owners, this can work out well, but Saint Bernard owners may prefer a set rate.

Broadway Dog Spa
547 E. Broadway
Boston, MA 02127
(617) 269-1164

While Broadway Dog Spa is all about dogs, it has the upside of focusing all of its attention on one type of pet. Dogs with special needs are manageable thanks to the owner's years of handling dogs for grooming purposes. People with older and handicapped dogs may prefer to take their animals to an expressly aware and experienced groomer like Broadway. A typical treatment at this establishment includes bathing, brushing, haircut, nail trimming, ear cleaning and anal gland expression at the owner's request.
