A classic BLT, or bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, has that perfect, satisfying crunch of lettuce and bacon tempered by the oozy goodness of tomato. It is the perfect spring food, when everyone is easing from the hearty comfort foods of winter, to the lighter fare of summer. The following Boston area restaurants have some of the best BLT or BLT variations in town.

When going out for Mexican food, a BLT may not immediately come to mind as the best menu option. But, The Painted Burro in Davis Square has a Mexican variation on the classic BLT that should not be missed. Their unique iteration of the classic sandwich is a BLT & Cheese Taco with Crispy Pork Belly, Pico de Gallo con Limon, Romaine, "Salsa mil Islas," and Cotija. One of Cambridge's original farm to table restaurant, Henrietta's Table has some of the freshest local ingredients, which means your BLT will not only be satisfying and delicious, it will also indirectly support local farmers and put money back into the local economy. Henrietta's Table BLT is made with Neuske's Bacon and is $13.
