Best Golf Courses On Cape Cod

August is National Golf Club Month, so why not head down to Cape Cod for a round? Just a couple of hours from the city of Boston, golf aficionados can enjoy some lovely views while getting in 18 holes. There are some wonderful courses on the Cape, and many enjoy the fresh air, sea breeze and many amenities offered at the courses' club houses.

www.captainsgolfcourse.comWith two courses to choose from (The Port Course is a par 72, but considered more challenging than The Starboard Course), The Captains Golf Course has long been considered one of the best on the lower Cape. The prices vary based on the time of day you'd like to play (about $80 for 18 holes in the morning, and $50 for the late afternoon, not including cart fees), but many Cape Cod visitors really enjoy playing here.

After your game, grab a beer and a bite to eat at the Captain's Cafe. The outdoor patio offers lovely views of the first tees of both courses.

www.cycc.netIf you don't play golf, Chequessett Yacht And Country Club will make you want to learn. This semi-private club has breathtaking views, and is a favorite spot for golfers of all kinds. While the course is only nine holes, there are two sets of tees, giving players an option to play 18 holes. The views of Wellfleet Harbor are incredible, and it's one of the main reasons people enjoy visiting the club. It will cost you about $50 to play 18 holes, not including your cart rental ($20 per person).

For about $70 (not including cart fees), you can play 18 holes of golf any day of the week. Here you will be surrounded by luscious green landscapes stretching for miles. You can also enjoy a meal at the newly opened Philbrick's after your game.

Drive just a few miles after crossing the Bourne Bridge and you will arrive at this gorgeous, challenging location. There are 27 holes here (an 18-hole course, and a 9-hole course), both of which are open year-round. You can book your tee times right on the club's website, and a round will cost you about $60 for morning play ( on weekends). If you'd prefer to tee off in the afternoon, the rates are cut to about half.

www.highlandlinkscapecod.comYou will need to travel pretty far down the cape to visit Highland Links, but you can't beat the views here. Although it's only nine holes, there is so much to take it while you're playing. It will cost you $35 to play nine holes ($65 to double for 18), not including your cart rental. The Lighthouse Cafe offers wonderful menu options for before or after your game. Tee times can be booked online.
