Cold Pattern Followed By Another Coastal StormWith breaks of sunshine, temperatures will be cool in the upper 40's northwest suburbs to lower 50's southeast Mass, Cape and Islands. An active and blustery wind at 15-25mph from the northwest will add some extra chill to the air making it feel more like the middle 40's. November is here!
Cloudy With Plenty of Dry This WeekendWith this morning's low lifting north and east of the region, we will dry out as mentioned with North winds wrapping in around the departing low. However thanks to abundant cloud cover temperatures will struggle to reach 60 degrees in most locations with the "Hot Spot" being far southeastern MA where proximity to a warm front will allow temperatures to reach a balmy 65-67 degrees.
Pleasant Dry Stretch of Weather AheadSunday will remain dry with filtered sunshine with highs climbing into the 70's near 80 with a cooling sea breeze. But, lows are still expected to drop into the 50's tonight.
Tropical Low Makes Close Pass Tuesday, Tropical Air to FollowWe will be watching clouds advancing ahead of an approaching low up the coast Tuesday. Skies will be clouding over with a chance of rain or showers on the Cape by late afternoon and for the coast by evening.
Plenty of Dry This Weekend, But Where It Rains It Pours!Very light winds at the surface today. All this means is a pretty quiet day for many of us with morning hazy sunshine giving way to increasing afternoon clouds with highs in the upper 70's and lwr 80's. Cooler onshore winds will keep it cooler at the coastline with highs in the Lwr-mid 70's. Clouds will hold tough on the Cape all day. But watch out for afternoon T'storms and downpours to develop inland
Taking the Good With The Bad...Before It Gets WorseThe clouds extend across all of eastern MA into NH. Meanwhile there is bright sunshine from Worcester west. After a cloudy morning, as the low begins to pull away, I expect some of the drier weather from the west to begin to work eastward eroding the cloud deck with drying NW winds and some increasing afternoon sun. Clouds will likely hold all day across NH, NE MA and right at the eastern Beaches. Where there is sunshine temps will be climbing into the lwr-mid 70's..nearing 80- in Hartford, CT. Where there are clouds...the temps will remain in the 60's
Weekend Woes And WorriesBatches of showers will continue to be directed up into eastern MA for the rest of the day. With cool onshore SE winds...expect highs to remain in the lwr 60's with a bit warmer temps inland in the mid 60's where it will be drier this afternoon in the mid 60's nearing 70 in spots.
Weekend Going Out In Style....Tropical Troubles AwaitAnother stellar day with bright sunshine, high clouds and temps quickly warming through the day. Highs will top out in the lwr-mid 80's making for a warmer summery feel this afternoon inland.
The Latest Thoughts On Upcoming Snowfall For MidweekNew England has the best chance for accumulating snowfall. Along and north of the Pike will likely be in the best snow growth regions for substantial accumulations..track dependent. If everything comes together just right... some areas could see up to 6 inches of snow or more...but let's just rest on this for now. It has not exactly been a good winter for snow storms.
Sunny Stretch of Weather...Briefly Cooler Cooler air will continue to push into New England today from North to south. A cold front currently in place across the north will take much of the day to finally push off the coast. Temps will struggle to warm in this cold air advection, but downsloping winds along with plenty of sunshine will allow temps to eventually climb into the lwr-mid 40's for most by this afternoon
Bye Bye 2011...Hello 2012!Scattered Showers will be taper off this afternoon as a cold front pushes off the coast. The cloud deck will lift and begin to break to partly cloudy skies by midnight tonight. Temps will be in the 40's for evening festivities and then fall to the upper 30's around midnight as skies begin to clear.
