The Colonial Theatre, located in Boston's Theatre District, is the oldest continuously operating theater in New England. When it opened in December 1900, the theater featured several pre-Broadway productions such as "Porgy and Bess," "Oklahoma" and "Born Yesterday."

The interior was decorated by H.B. Pennell.

Over the past 12 years, the Colonial Theatre has undergone some extensive changes to make seating more comfortable and the theater more spacious. There have also been several restoration projects on the theater's murals and paintings. - Lori Lennon
