Man Killed In Billerica After Being Hit By Car On Route 3

BILLERICA (CBS) -- A man was killed in Billerica on Saturday night after being hit by a car on Route 3. State Police arrived on the scene around 8:30 p.m.

The crash took place along Route 3 Northbound near Exit 78.

Police identified the victim as Joseph Francois, 43, of Hyde Park.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said to expect delays in the area for hours.

As of Saturday night, police have not stated why the person killed was walking on the highway.
