Man Rescued After Falling Into Uncovered Storm Drain In NH Mall Parking Lot

CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) – Emergency crews in New Hampshire saved a man after he fell about 20 feet down a storm drain in a parking lot.

It happened Wednesday in the parking lot of the Steeplegate Mall in Concord.

Police said the cover was not on the drain, though it is unclear why.

A firefighter used a ladder to reach the man, then attached a safety harness and helped him climb up.

The man declined medical attention.
