MBTA Makes Repairs At Savin Hill Station After Falling Metal Nearly Hits Rider
BOSTON (CBS) – The MBTA is investigating what caused a chunk of metal to fall from the stairs at the Savin Hill station. A WBZ-TV viewer shared photos of the damage, saying it nearly hit a rider at the station.
The MBTA said the metal came from a panel under one of the concrete steps. Other panels were inspected at the station and minor repairs were made.
Engineers said the stairway is safe and structurally sound, but they do not know what caused the panel to fall.
