Oxford's Geoffrey Esper 2nd At Hot Dog Eating Contest; Joey Chestnut Wins With Record-Setting 76

CONEY ISLAND (CBS) – Joey Chestnut made history again. But a Massachusetts man made a statement as well at the annual Nathan's hot dog eating contest at Coney Island.

Contestants took the stage Sunday for the Fourth of July tradition, including Geoffrey Esper of Oxford.

Esper is ranked second in the world behind juggernaut Joey Chestnut.

Last year, Chestnut set a new world record by eating 75 hot dogs in 10 minutes. This year, Chestnut broke his own record by chowing down 76.

Esper was tops for the rest of the field, eating 51 hot dogs to equal his personal best. That was good for second place overall.
