Mother Swan On Boston's Esplanade Has Died

BOSTON (CBS) -- The mother swan of the swan family on the Esplanade died Monday night. The news was announced by the Charles Esplanade group, which is part of the Esplanade Association.

Boston Animal Control removed the mother swan "while the father swan sat at the nest with their cygnets tucked under his wings."

The cygnets began hatching last week.
