Police Seek Driver In Worcester Hit-And-Run That Injured 11-Year-Old Boy

WORCESTER (CBS) – Police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that injured an 11-year-old boy. Investigators said a black four-door sedan hit the boy on Pleasant Street just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The incident was captured on surveillance camera. The neighbor who shared the video with WBZ said the boy and his friend were in the crosswalk, and the driver never tried to stop.

As witnesses ran to help the boy, others yelled that the car was taking off.

"That's when I saw that the boy was laying right over there," neighbor Bob Belanus said. "It made me sick."

Police say the boy is expected to recover, but the driver of the dark four-door sedan wouldn't have known that.

"That's inexcusable. I hope that the authorities catch him or her and hold them responsible," another neighbor said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Worcester Police.
