Closing Arguments Monday In Corruption Trial Of Fall River's Ex-Mayor Jasiel Correia
BOSTON (CBS) -- The corruption and fraud case against former Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia will soon be in the hands of a jury. Closing arguments are set to begin Monday in federal court in Boston.
The defense rested Thursday after calling three witnesses. Correia chose not to take the stand in his own defense.
He is accused of extorting marijuana companies, stealing from investors, and forcing his chief of staff to return half of her salary to him while he was in office.
Correia has maintained his innocence.
