Moderna Moves To Put More COVID-19 Vaccine Doses In Each Vial
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - Moderna said it will be adding more vaccine doses to each vial if the FDA approves the move.
Moderna President Stephen Hoge said that the company is manufacturing almost 1 million doses each day. To address a manufacturing bottleneck -- how many vials can be filled in a given time period -- the company wants to fill vials with as many as 15 doses. Each Moderna vaccine vial currently holds 10 doses.
According to Hoge, the change could ramp up vaccine efforts.
