MIDDLEBORO (CBS) – A man is in custody, accused of murdering his mother and father in their Middleboro home. Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz called the crime a “tragic and horrifying situation.”

Around 6 a.m. on Thursday police were called to Highland Street for a well-being check on a resident who did not show up for work. Once inside, police discovered the bodies of 55-year-old Renee True and 52-year-old David True.

A short time later, police arrested 21-year-old Ryan True at a different location. True is charged with two counts of murder and is expected to be arraigned on Friday.

“I’d like to reassure the community that this was not a random act of violence,” said Joseph Perkins, Middleboro Chief of Police.

All three lived in the home on Highland Street.
