NORTH ATTLEBORO (CBS) – We are still more than two weeks away from Thanksgiving, but someone is in the Christmas mood in North Attleboro.

A few potholes on Route 1 at the Fashion Crossing Plaza entrance were filled with tiny Christmas trees.

One person replied “Funny and cute but not helpful.”

“While the placement of the small tree is amusing (though it is a bit early for decorating), residents should understand that placing obstructions within the roadway could be dangerous and cause damage to vehicles and possible accidents with the persons creating the hazard would be responsible for,” Public Works Director Mark Hollowell told WBZ-TV in an email.

So does that mean that the Public Works can be held responsible for “creating” these pothole hazards to be created in the first place? That’s good to know!
