No Bail For 2 Charged In Back Bay Shootout That Damaged Several Cars

BOSTON (CBS) – Two Boston men accused of being part of a shootout in the Back Bay Tuesday afternoon are now being held without bail. Rashawn Bly, 24, and 23-year-old Walter Coleman were arraigned on several charges Wednesday.

Police were called to Fairfield Street between Newbury and Boylston streets just before 4 p.m. Tuesday after shots were fired and several cars were hit. No one was hurt.

Investigators said two groups, Bly and Coleman in one and an unidentified man and woman in the other, were arguing and then started shooting at each other. It's not clear who fired first.

Two men, later identified by police as Bly and Coleman, were seen running away down an alley.

Officers captured Bly in the alley and caught Coleman on the roof of a nearby building. They later found a gun in a recycle bin in the alley. Police had no more information about the two other people involved.

Bly and Coleman were arrested and now face several gun charges.

They were both arraigned in Boston Municipal Court Wednesday morning. Citing identification issues, both were allowed to stay behind a door and not show their faces in court. They are being held without bail until their next hearing in the case November 4.
