BOSTON (CBS) – A store clerk who was shot in Roxbury Tuesday night is fighting for his life. Police are searching for the gunman who ambushed the clerk at the M&R convenience store on Shawmut Ave during a robbery.

The clerk, 21-year-old Tanjim Siam, is in a coma and facing another surgery at Boston Medical Center.

“I have a family,” store owner Abdul Matin said. “I’m so afraid. How can I open this store?”

Matin does not know why his employee was shot. He said Siam gave the suspect money and cigarettes and was still forced into a back room and shot.

“I pray for my clerk. He’s not my relative but he’s from my country from Bangladesh,” Martin said. “Get this guy and please take him to the justice.”

Police who reviewed the store surveillance video said Siam did everything the gunman requested, but that didn’t save him from getting shot in the head execution style.

Police have not yet released the surveillance pictures of the suspect.

A large area was shut down as Boston Police investigated.

Israel Feliciano lives near the store. He was there around 9 p.m., just 15 minutes before the shooting.

“I was just in there, and I spoke to him. Everything was OK. It’s sad because you really don’t know what’s going to happen,” said Feliciano.

A woman who identified herself only as Mary said she lives next to the shop and checked on the clerk every night to make sure he was safe. She went into the store shortly after the shooting.

“When I walked in, another woman and another gentleman were in there already. They said for me to get out and they had already called police,” said Feliciano.

Anyone with information is asked to call Boston Police.

The Boston Convenience Store Owners Association created a GoFundMe to help Siam and his family as he is in the hospital.

Where is the outrage? Where are the protests? Crickets…
When these several times a week events stop or at least slow down dramatically I may may attention to BLM. Until then sit down and shut up.
