3 Wareham Firefighters Hurt When Engine Hit By Accused Drunk Driver

WAREHAM (CBS) – Three Wareham firefighters were hurt when their fire engine was hit by an accused drunk driver Wednesday night.

Police said 32-year-old Kimberly Page of West Wareham ran a red light on Route 28 around 9:45 p.m. and her car hit another vehicle coming off Route 195. Page's car then went across the road and hit the fire engine head-on, according to investigators.

Three firefighters went to the hospital with minor injuries, but police said "multiple people" also went to the hospital with "serious but non-life-threatening injuries."

Page is charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop at a red light.
