Doctor Charged With Killing Wife After Body Found Near Dover Home

DOVER (CBS) – Police arrested Ingolf Tuerk and charged him with murdering his wife after her body was found not far from the family's home in Dover.

Kathleen McLean, 45, had last been seen in her Valley Road home Thursday night. Massachusetts State Police and officers from Dover and Dedham had been investigating her disappearance.

Around 11 p.m. Saturday night, police found the 45-year-old mother's body in an outdoor area not far from the home. It is unclear how she died.

Tuerk, 58, who also lives at the home, was arrested and charged with his wife's murder. Tuerk is a well-known urologist who used to work at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton.

The Steward Medical Group, the parent organization of St. Elizabeth's Hospital released a statement saying: "Dr. Tuerk has not seen or treated patients as part of Steward Medical Group for more than a year. He was formally terminated in February."

Neighbors Phil and Marion Luttazi said they know the couple. "We were very surprised," said Marion.

"We were a little friendly and I gave them a lot tomatoes, he really loved the tomatoes out of my garden. Met her twice. One time I sat down and had a glass of ice tea with them and nice conversation," Phil said. "They would take walks holding hands but he was always barefooted. Never had shoes on no matter what he did, even cutting the grass."

Neighbor Jill Chen added, "It's sad, especially for this time period."

Tuerk is expected to be arraigned Monday through Dedham District Court.

According to the Boston Globe, the couple got married in December but McLean had accused Tuerk of abuse several times.
