BOSTON (CBS) – Pete Buttigieg continued his rise in Friday night’s exclusive WBZ/Boston Globe/Suffolk University poll, for the first time taking a narrow lead that falls within the survey’s 4.4% margin of error.

Buttigieg pulled in 25 percent, up two points from Thursday night, while Bernie Sanders held steady at 24 percent. Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden also rose by two percentage points, placing Warren third with 14 percent and Biden fourth with 11.

These slight changes seem to be driven by a four-point drop in the number of undecided voters climbing off the fence, a process likely to be enhanced by Friday night’s televised debate.

Buttigieg drew more support from male voters than Thursday night, while Sanders dropped four points among registered Democrats.

Warren saw an increase in support from voters aged 18-45, while Biden’s uptick appears to be fueled by voters aged 46 to 65.

And in a badly-needed slice of good news for Warren, she has inched past Sanders into second place among women voters, a crucial constituency for her, with 20% support, up six points from Monday. Buttigieg continues to lead with 26%, but Sanders slipped to 19%, down three points from the start of the week, and Biden is at 11 seven points off his Monday number.

The WBZ-TV/Boston Globe/Suffolk University tracking poll is a two-day rolling sample of 500 likely New Hampshire Democratic primary voters which will continue through Sunday night.

Join us Saturday night at 11 for another snapshot of this tightening race.

They all took a whack at the Mayor Pete piñata but NONE of them knocked the candy outta him!
Pete is on the rise and a stark contrast to the 80 year old dinosaurs and all their ‘experience’.

    1. Duane says:

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that ’80 year old dinosaur’ is more of a President than any of the other candidates running. Once I caught news of Pete hiring a former Goldman Sachs executive onto his campaign, he completely lost my respect. You aren’t going to get anyone better than Sanders.

trump will eat him alive ppl will vote against him cuz he gay vote sanders unless you want trump another 4 years

It’s been five (count ’em) 5 days since the Iowa caucus and we still don’t have any idea who won. Can we stop with the buggery and speculation and spit it out?

      TRAITOR 2020

      Fixed that for you.

      1. Oliver W. Homey says:

Duane, what is it you hate the most about Trump, your lower taxes, more jobs, or not sending guys off to war, all things that last moron in that office failed to do, or did you like higher taxes, weekly death counts and more people on welfare and food stamps? Let us all know

MP Oleksandr Dubinsky from the Servant of the People faction said that according to investigators, “the Yanukovych ‘family’ illegally obtained $7.4 billion and laundered the funds through an investment fund close to some representatives of the U.S. Democratic Party in the form of external government loan bonds.” We know who the real traitors are!

  6. wjm980 says:

It continues to amaze me that people still are rooting for a man with health problems and will be 80, yes I said 80! years old the year he becomes president. There’s having one foot in the grave, and then there’s Bernie.

    1. Duane says:

Sanders doesn’t have health problems. I have heard of people MUCH younger than him getting those kinds of heart problems, and I have most certainly seen people his age in much worse condition. His health and age will not be a factor in this election, unless people want to make it a pointless talking point.

  7. Justanaveragejoe says:

Though Mayor Pete seems a decent enough guy he will not be elected President. The American people will not watch him sworn in on the Inaugural Podium, turn around and kiss his so called “husband,” and then watch them walk hand in hand into the White House. Sorry but it ain’t happening, ever.

    1. XRepublican says:

Sorry, but I can’t disagree with you more, Justanaveragejoe. I’m a former Republican and now an Independent. I have hardcore Republicans in my circle of family and friends. I have Democrats who lean heavily left, moderate Dems, as well as Independents on both sides of the political aisle. Politically, we don’t agree on much, though there is some common ground and Buttigieg is often mentioned as part of that common ground between us, as well as getting Trump out of office. What we don’t think about is the fact that Buttigieg is gay, has a husband, or our vote that might put a gay man in the Oval office because this is the United States of America. This is a country where the majority of the people strive everyday to look beyond our own environments that shaped our identities and accept those who are different from us as much as we want to be accepted by those outside of our own circle of family or friends who deem us different from others. We do this because we believe in the Constitution. We believe that this is truly the best country in the world. One where everyone is free to own their own opinions while we honor the constitutional rights of all to be free and to be treated fairly. That means Americans can give a gay man a fair shot at running for the presidency simply because he has demonstrated some skill and wherewithal to gain national attention. That means we do not turn him away because he’s married to a man.
Does it make you feel good to judge this man because he’s gay, or anyone else from the LGBT community? Deep down inside, I would bet that it does not because I’ve been in your shoes. I speak from experience that it made me sick to my stomach when I realized what I thought I believed were not my own beliefs. That my so-called beliefs were shaped by my environment, which developed the core of my thinking and my identity that I knew was wrong. Set yourself free and think for yourself, Joe. You’ll be so much happier for it.

    Buttigieg was “edging” Sanders…….very subtle….lol

  11. Duane says:

Uhh.. not sure what information this article is referencing, but Sanders most definitely won the Iowa Caucus. He had 6,000-8,000 more votes than Pete.

Last I heard in our Democrat republic “The truth is a valid defense.”

  14. Chz Wiz says:

The Democrats have shut out anyone who is decent and moderate. Bloomberg is the only hope for a win and they hate him because of his money, but love him when he just gives them the money. Biden is a crook, Warren is a slimy liar, Petey is gay, and Bernie is a communist. Did you see the video of the lady that found out Pete was married to a man after she voted. She asked for her caucus card back so she could change her vote to someone else.

  16. Captain 8===SKY======D says:

I don’t buy the polls for a second. They killed the Des Moines Register poll. Then they rigged Iowa. Now they’re rigging this poll in preparation for rigging New Hampshire.

Pistol Pete is a CIA democrat. He’s pro-corporate and pro-empire. When they figured out Biden couldn’t possibly win, they went with him as Plan B.

  17. Lib Serum says:

Wasn’t Biden 92% likely to win recently? But it’s always a good sign when your party shuffles votes over to your column behind the curtain. And Pete’s the guy to get them.

  18. Oliver W. Homey says:

this just keeps getting better. This guy was a so-so mayor with lots of issues of a small city. This is a perfect example of identity politics. If he were straight he would not be getting any of the attention but the youngsters that don’t actually vote think its wonderful and probably could not tell you any of his policies. He will also have problems with the black votes does to. his actions on the recent police shooting in his hometown and his response.

  19. Kate says:

Are the Democrats once again going to foist the man with the least experience and the most baggage onto us? Little Pete is horrible for South Bend, IN and would be worse for our country.
