Wrong-Way Driver Causes 3-Car Crash On Route 128 In Danvers

DANVERS (CBS) – A wrong-way driver caused a crash that shut down part of Route 128 in Danvers early Thursday morning, police said.

It happened just before 5 a.m. in the northbound lanes. Two SUVs and a minivan were involved, according to Massachusetts State Police, and four people ended up with minor injuries.

The northbound side of the highway was shut down between exits 22 and 23 for nearly two hours for the cleanup.

"No charges have been sought at this time," State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said in a statement. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
