1 Dead, 2 Injured After Fall River Shooting

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- One man died and two others were left with non-life threatening injuries after a brawl and shooting in Fall River Friday night. It was an all-out melee outside JC's Cafe according to witnesses.

"Next thing you know, there's a bunch of guys fighting outside. Helmets being thrown everywhere," witness Sandro Semedo said.

The brawl spilled onto Bedford Street leaving 39-year-old Eric Voshell of Oak Bluffs shot to death.

"We heard the shots go off, repetitive," said witness Michael Arruda. "A lot of commotion was going on at that point and then shortly after, we ended up hearing a bunch of motorcycles start up and take off."

The fight broke out at around 10:15 Friday night. Sandro Semedo took video of the chaotic scene from his front porch. People were throwing punches and using motorcycle helmets as weapons.

"The guy was still laying over here," Semedo said. "All the neighbors went outside and can see the guy laying on the ground. There's still blood on the floor."

Witnesses say police arrived on scene within minutes, blocking off the area with crime scene tape. Evidence markers littered the ground as the investigation continued into the night.

Neighbors say the bar does get a bit rowdy, but added they've never seen it get out of hand like this.

"It does make you a little nervous at night," Arruda said. "This is probably the third time in the last year or so that something's gone on like this in the neighborhood."

A 37-year-old man from Fall River and a 23-year-old Bridgewater man were also taken to local hospitals. They are in stable condition.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

The Bristol County District Attorney said "the investigation into the shooting homicide is extremely active."
