Duxbury Police Find Truck Allegedly Involved In Hit And Run

DUXBURY (CBS) – Police have located the pickup truck they believe was involved in a hit and run in Duxbury Sunday evening. The victim, 46-year-old Andrea Gordon of Duxbury, was struck and remains in critical condition.

Officers were called to Washington Street around 6:30 p.m. after the woman was found. She was rushed into surgery at South Shore Hospital.

Police said Gordon was walking or jogging at the time she was hit.

Some pieces of the truck that hit Gordon were left behind, Deputy Police Chief Steve McDonald said. Police put out surveillance photos of the pickup truck Monday, looking for help tracking down the driver of the Ram pickup truck.

No arrests have been made.

Police Chief Matt Clancy said, "At the time, it was still very bright, clearly daylight. It's obvious to us that the operator of this vehicle knew that they had collided with something. I think it's probably very apparent that a human was struck in this case and they just drove off."

Clancy added that officers are going door-to-door searching for surveillance video of the crash.

Neighbors did what they could to help police, and are now doing the same for the Gordons with a GoFundMe page. "It could be anyone in our town, it could be anyone of our children, anyone of our moms, anyone of our dads," said Megan Driscoll-Greenstein, who set up the page.

Anyone with information is asked to call Duxbury Police at 781-934-5656.
