Chelsea Home Evacuated After Grenade Found

CHELSEA (CBS) – A house in Chelsea was evacuated late Monday morning after a grenade was found there.

It was discovered during a well-being check on a person living in the three-family home on Revere Beach Parkway.

The State Police bomb squad was called in and determined the grenade was inert. Troopers did find potentially explosive powder in the house and removed it.

Part of Route 16 westbound was also shut down for the investigation. No one was hurt.
