Buzzards Bay Park Playground Closed After Child Seriously Hurt

BOURNE (CBS) – A two-year-old girl was seriously hurt at a splash pad in Bourne Tuesday.

Police say the toddler lost part of a "lower extremity" while on a slide at Buzzards Bay Park.  An initial report said it was a toe, but authorities would not confirm that.

The child was taken to a hospital in Rhode Island. There's no word yet on her condition.

The splash pad and playground at the park have been closed indefinitely as investigators try to figure out what happened.
