Stoughton High principal Juliette Miller confirmed on Sunday that all five were students. Stoughton High School will be open on Sunday beginning at noon for students and staff. Grief counselors will be available.

Superintendent Marguerite Rizzi held a press conference Sunday at Stoughton High School. She called it “the worst nightmare of any school administrator.”

“We’re going to do everything that we can do and everything that is necessary to get our students, their families, and our staff members through this crisis,” Rizzi said.

School will open as planned on Monday. But Rizzi said it will likely not be a normal school day.

“This is not the kind of thing that you heal from quickly. The recovery is long. We will be available for everyone who needs as for as long as they need us,” said Rizzi.

Two of the students, Joyce and Bell, were members of the school’s track team. They also played football and basketball.

Witnesses told WBZ-TV that it appeared speed may have played a role in the crash. Investigators said they are looking at all potential factors in the crash, including speed and weather.
