Quincy Woman Dies After Being Rescued From Burning Home
QUINCY (CBS) -- A woman has died after she rescued and taken to the hospital with severe burns after a fire broke out in Quincy early Sunday morning.
Flames destroyed the Havard Street home where the woman, who was in her 50's, lived on the first floor. A family on the second floor was able to escape.
A dog also died in the fire, according to Deputy Fire Chief Paul Griffin.
"It's shocking. You'd see her every day in passing. She loved her dog," a neighbor told WBZ-TV.
It is not clear what started the fire, which appears to have started on the first floor. The home did have working smoke detectors.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious.
