Driver In Fatal Multi-Car Crash On I-95 In Reading To Be Arraigned Friday

READING (CBS) -- One person is under arrest for operating under the influence in connection with a deadly crash involving multiple vehicles on Rte. 95 Northbound in Reading Thursday morning.

State Police identified the driver as Lynn DeWolfe, 50, of Tyngsboro. She is charged with operating under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of a crash that caused personal injury and death, negligent operation, and marked lanes violation.

Police say DeWolfe was driving erratically. Then she hit the red Subaru, forcing it to go towards oncoming traffic. The motorcycle rider hit the Subaru, flew over the Subaru, then under another car.

They said DeWolfe was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the crash. She's being held at the Danvers barracks.

DeWolfe's driving record shows that she has previous DUI arrests and license suspensions.

The motorcyclist was taken to Lahey Hospital in Burlington where he was pronounced dead. His name has not be released.

State Police said DeWolfe did not stop, and kept driving up Route 95, reportedly getting in more crashes with other drivers.

A Wakefield Police officer and State Police trooper eventually took her into custody when she stopped near Exit 42.

State Police said around 2:30 p.m. that all lanes had been reopened.

The crash happened just before Exit 38, and left heavy delays in both directions.
