Driver Rescued After Truck Crashes Off Bridge In Rochester
ROCHESTER (CBS) -- A man was trapped in the cab of a truck for 40 minutes Thursday morning as crews worked to rescue him.
The truck had crashed on the Hiller Street Bridge in Rochester around 6:46 a.m., rolling over the side and into the water.
The Rochester Fire Department, along with a bystander, helped to hold the driver above water until they could get him out of the truck.
The driver, who was seriously injured, was taken to a trauma center in Rhode Island by Medflight helicopter.
The Department of Environmental Protection responded to the scene to clean up the mess.
Rochester Police are investigating the crash.
