CHARLESTOWN, Rhode Island (CBS) — Prepare yourself for the most epic meal you’ll ever eat–where the menu is filled with prime rib, Alaskan crab, shrimp, oysters and clams, succulent lobster, plus cakes, cannoli, pies, and ice cream.

And I hope you’re sitting down, because all of it, is all-you-can-eat.

“It’s an eating extravaganza,” says co-owner Steve Persson.

Deep in the woods of Charlestown, Rhode Island, the Nordic Lodge has become world-famous for its gloriously gourmet buffet.

“The Nordic Lodge is an all-you-can-eat, more-than-you-could-imagine buffet, and by that I mean we are very high end,” says co-owner Nancy Persson

“If you want the best, and you want to try a lot of different high end foods, this is a great place to do it,” says Steve.

“We have over 100 items, and I don’t think it’s possible to try them all at one time!” Nancy says.

Steve Persson, his sister Nancy, and the rest of their family have owned and operated the biggest and tastiest buffet outside of Vegas for nearly forty years. And while there are more than a hundred top-quality items to choose from, the biggest draw, by far, is the all-you-can-eat lobster.

“The lobsters are cooked in 60 pound baskets,” explains Steve. “We cook three baskets at a time, every twenty minutes, so it’s a pretty non-stop operation.”

Although the lobster grabs all the headlines, there’s plenty more here to grab your attention.

“People think they are gonna come here just for the lobster, and everything else looks so good and tastes so good that they try everything,” Nancy says.

The buffet seems to just go on and on and on, and so does the spacious dining room–where customers are treated like royalty at a buffet fit for a king.

“This isn’t a dim lit, little candle light kind of a place here,” says Steve. “This is high energy, bright lights, fun!”
