Arrest Made For Double Stabbing Outside Haverhill Bar

HAVERHILL (CBS) -- A 21-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon after police say he stabbed two men outside a downtown Haverhill bar.

Hayden Delafuente is charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, as well as two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said the stabbing happened around 1 a.m. outside the Barking Dog Ale House on Washington Street.

The victims are two men, a 28-year-old from Lawrence and a 30-year-old from Salem, New Hampshire.

The 28-year-old was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital by helicopter for surgery, and is still in critical condition.

The 30-year-old was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with less serious injuries.

Delafuente faces arraignment Tuesday in Haverhill District Court.

The incident is still under investigation by the Essex County District Attorney's office.
