Gregg Allman Dead At 69, Publicist Says

SAVANNAH, Ga. (CBS/AP) — Music legend Gregg Allman has died, his publicist announced on Saturday.

The organist and singer for The Allman Brothers Band helped spawn Southern rock.

Ringo Starr of the Beatles was among the musicians who posted following Allman's death.

A cause of death was not announced, but he struggled with Hepatitis C and had a liver transplant.

Allman was 69 years old.
