Teen Arrested For Marijuana Distribution After Students Hospitalized From Eating Brownies

PLYMOUTH (CBS) – Five middle school students in Plymouth were taken to an area hospital when they suffered a reaction after eating brownies Friday morning.

The Plymouth South Middle School students became sick around 10:30 a.m, according to Plymouth Police Chief Mike Botieri.

"We received a call from the School Resource Officer at the Plymouth South Middle School reporting that some of the students were experiencing adverse effects from eating what turned out to be some type of brownie," Botieri continued.

Officials said a student shared the brownies outside of a classroom before school.

As a result of a police investigation, a 13-year-old male was arrested for possession of marijuana (over one once) and distributing marijuana.

The students were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as a precaution.
