NHL Trade Deadline Live Blog: Bruins Acquire Drew Stafford

3:30 p.m.: The Bruins have acquired Drew Stafford in exchange for a conditional sixth-rounder.

Stafford, 31, has four goals and nine assists for Winnipeg this season. He has career totals of 179-213-392 in 707 NHL games. Much of that came with the Buffalo Sabres, for whom he played from 2006-15.

3:23 p.m.: Mark Streit has been quickly flipped to Pittsburgh.

3:14 p.m.: The Bruins have acquired a forward, according to Joe McDonald. Awaiting word on who it is.

3:09 p.m.: Here's a post-deadline trade report.

3:03 p.m.: The deadline has passed. Some trades will continue to trickle through, but some big names won't be moving for sure.

2:54 p.m.: Trades that won't knock your socks off.

2:40 p.m.: The Lightning have moved Valtteri Filppula.

So that's Filppula, a fourth and a conditional seventh going to Philly. And it's Mark Streit going to Tampa.

2:29 p.m.: Veteran D-man Mark Streit is on the move to the Lightning.

Streit is 39 years old.

2:24 p.m.: Classic!

2:10 p.m.: Another small deal, with Andreas Martinsen going to Montreal and Sven Andrighetto going to the Avalanche.

2:07 p.m.: Another deal:

Quincey has 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) this year. Prout has three assists in 15 games this year.

Also on the Vrbata report earlier, it seems as though it was perhaps just a Twitter rumor that he was removed from the ice. Absent any further confirmation, it's coming out for now.

1:20 p.m.: Done deal.

Only 100 minutes left till the deadline. Action time?

12:47 p.m.: The Kings are very, very close to completing a deal for Iginla.

12:27 p.m.: Dwight King is no longer a King. The Canadian is now a Canadien.

King has spent his entire career with L.A., and he has 15 points and an even rating this season.

12:07 p.m.: ESPN's Joe McDonald reports that 20-year-old Joshua Ho-Sang is being discussed by the Islanders.

Ho-Sang has 36 points in 48 AHL games this season. He was the 28th overall pick in 2014.

11:54 a.m.: The Panthers are very much in the mix for a postseason spot, and it looks like they'll be making a fairly significant addition.

Vanek, 33, has 15 goals and 23 assists in 48 games played this year.

The Red Wings will be geting the 6-foot-5 D-man, Dylan McIlrath, in return, in addition to the third-round pick.

11:35 a.m.: There's been some rumblings about the Bruins looking to add Jaroslav Halak as a backup goalie, but according to Joe McDonald, it's quiet on that front right now.

11:29 a.m.: The quest for Jarome Iginla to win a Cup is back on, and the Kings may be interested.

The Kings are currently one point back of the Blues for the final wild-card spot in the West. The Avs are in dead last, and the 39-year-old Iginla has just 18 points in 61 games.

11:18 a.m.: This just about sums it up ...

11:09 a.m.: One of the most exciting parts of deadline day is the thrill that comes when a player is pulled off the ice during practice. Sometimes it's because a trade has been made. Other times it's because the player took a puck to the foot, or something of the like.

But the Canucks will be eliminating all drama today.

Boo!

10:56 a.m.: As the GMs around the league get to work in earnest, the Avs and Coyotes have agreed on a minor deal.

Brendan Ranford will be going to the Avalanche organization, while Joe Whitney will be going to the Coyotes organization.

The 24-year-old Ranford has one game of NHL experience, while the 29-year-old Whitney has five.

8:45 a.m.: We've already seen a ton of trades in the month of February, which makes you wonder what we'll see today. One trade that went down last night was interesting, as Claude Julien's Montreal Canadiens acquired career agitator Steve Ott.

Ott cost the Canadiens just a sixth-round pick. He has just six points and 63 penalty minutes this season, and he's been in the league since the 2002-03 season.

8:33 a.m.: Elliotte Friedman tweeted that the Bruins and Calgary Flames may potentially be interested in Coyotes winger Radim Vrbata. He noted as one of his "things to watch" ahead of the trade deadline. The Bruins could use right wing depth, for the right price.

7 a.m.: The day of NHL reckoning is upon us.

Today at 3 p.m., teams will have made their final moves in either their run for a shot at Lord Stanley's Cup or in their admission that 2017 just won't be their year. As always, it's difficult to decipher ahead of time which teams will be buyers and which teams will choose to be sellers. But by 3 p.m. today, we'll have a good idea.

And so, as the rumors fly all morning and afternoon around the NHL, from Sunrise to Vancouver and from Anaheim to Montreal, we'll have them all covered right here in the live blog leading up to the deadline at 3 p.m.

Locally, we'll see what the Bruins do. They're certainly in the postseason mix, and Don Sweeney definitely has some demands from his bosses regarding a postseason run, so it wouldn't be a shock to see them try to add to their roster if possible.

Check back often, as we'll be updating with reports, rumors and done deals all day long.
