The victim, a 43-year-old Asian woman, was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Sunday afternoon, Quincy Police said they are looking for an Asian male who was seen by witnesses to the incident at the bar.

Authorities say he was wearing a dark knit hat, a three-quarter length coat possibly green or multi-colored and armed with a knife that was not recovered at the scene.

Police say this man may be the same person seen driving a dark-colored SUV by officers who initially arrived at the bar after the attack.

"Hopefully they can get him as soon as possible," Kevin Chen of  Quincy said.

"You get sick of hearing about violence, period," Gerard Doherty of Quincy said.

Customers who frequent President Plaza on Quincy Avenue are upset learning a women was stabbed just after midnight at the Jazz Moon Karaoke Bar.

"I don't even know the circumstances of the stabbing, but I was surprised to be honest with you," Doherty added.

Quincy police detectives, back on the scene Sunday, could been seen going in and out of the plaza's other businesses, this while shoppers at the busy plaza tried to make sense of it all.

"We live around the neighborhood, so it's kind of scary to hear something like that because like we haven't heard anything like that around this area," Joel Gonzalez of Quincy said.

"Of course, it's a concern. We expect that this neighborhood is very safe and there is a lot of families coming to this area," Kevin Chen said.

If you have any information on this assault, you are asked to call Quincy Police.
